Resin cabs fit in Deep Well Ring

Here are a couple of pictures to show how the cabs from mold 567 fit in the new Deep Well Rings. There is a little bit of room but if you first put a base of resin in the ring then put the cab in it will all meld together.

Beaded Resin Butterfly Suncatcher from littleblackants

I think the artist says it best----"What a sweet way to brighten your day! This lovely butterfly is made from resin and plastic beads in red, orange, and yellow. I threaded fishing line through a small drilled hole and hung it from a suction cup. Perfect to decorate any window - in your kitchen, bedroom, classroom - or take off the suction cup and hang it from your rearview mirror!"
These are from littleblackants at her Etsy store.

Gloss Shine to Resin Jewelry Casting

OOOOOOOOO the age old question of how to get that high shine back. It's one of my most asked questions. I promise there is a dvd coming by the end of the year, I'm trying. There are two ways to get the high gloss back once you have sanded your casting. One is to "DIP" not brush but dip your sanded piece in a new batch of liquid resin. Now before you do this you need to put some packing tape or scotch tape on the back. Resin does not adhere to scotch tape and you will need this to peel off the little drips. At the very second the resin hardens it will hardened little drips on the back. Now with the tape on the back you can peel those little drips right off. Now for the second way will require some tools like a jewelers variable slow speed bench lathe or a bench grinder will work but most of them are too fast unless you are very experienced. You will melt your piece if one is too fast. You will need stitched and unstitched muslin buffing wheels, buffing and polishing compounds. This will give you the professional high gloss finish. There is a book that you can probably find at the library that has great pictures that shows the polish and buff process. "The New Jewelry Contemporary Materials & Techniques by Carles Codina". Hang in there I promise there is more info and lots of new techniques and ideas coming soon on dvd. thanks cindy@resinobsession.com

New Resin Technique Turns Earrings into Ice Rock Crystals

Very seldom does something come along that is so different and refreshing that it takes your breath away. I think these pieces just might be on that list. She has developed a new resin technique that involves manipulating semi-cured resin when it is in the gel stage without a mould. And this is what the product looks like, naturally formed ice or rock crystals! Enjoy!

TLOriginals has Fallen Back in Love wih Resin

8-6-08
This is what Tracey had to say after we painstakingly figured out why her castings where tacky : "OMG Cindy, I just had to write once more to tell you I have fallen BACK in love with resin. I did exactly as I said and made myself what I call my humid free room. HOORAY!! all pieces were HARD AND TACK FREE!! " Tracey"s studio is in her basement and gets a little humid just like my Houston studio where I keep a dehumidifier on when I pour resin and when it is curing.

I could gaze all day in to Tracey's rings. I hope she keeps up the good work.
