Here is a Flickr discussion group on Resin, Resin Jewelry you might be interested in. It reminded me that you might want to send in to magazines for exposure.

Studio Clean UP

January 28, 2008
I am so ready to start creating.... I spent all day yesterday cleaning up the Studio. When I was creating all those samples for CHA, the Studio was buzzing with molds here, fibers there, drying boards... it looked like a tornado hoovering for a couple of weeks. When it was all over I just walked away exhausted, didn't look back. But now things needs to be put back in there homes and the work surfaces ready for new projects.

Measurement conversion

January 25, 2008
I found this really cool site that will take measurements and convert them to other forms of measurement. Make sense? You can enter 1 inch and it will calculate that it equals 25.4mm!!! Cool. here it is http://www.worldwidemetric.com/metcal.htm

Hi Obsessioners,
I found some video that some of you have emailed me about on baking resin. I thought I would link it here in the Blog so we can easily find it to refer to. I have not tried it yet. If you have please email me and let me know your results.

UK distributor carries EasyCast

Hi,
I just got an email from a fellow Obsessioner that Ian Clarke Coatings in the UK is now carrying EasyCast resin! I also understand that he takes PayPal. You can find his address, phone number and fax on the Resin Obsession International Distributors Page. http://stores.ebay.com/RESINOBSESSION?refid=store/International-Distributors-List.html or
http://www.clarke-coatings.co.uk/
I hope this helps.

I have a tip: Browsing I found where someone asked How to polish resin after they had sanded it. One of the answers involved denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol does have a tendacy to amber your resin after a short amount of time. It is better to use sand paper increasing your grit then buff / polish with a cloth wheel loaded with polish for plastic.

This is so exciting!

January 9, 2008

Hi,

I've had so many firsts in my life with Resin Obsession, one being this Blog! I can't believe I'm doing this, I'm blogging. I know for some this is old news you've been blogging for years but for me I didn't feel like I had a reason to to blog. Now with Resin Obsession moving at such a fast pace I have something to write about.

I'm still trying to polish up the Resin Obsession store with unified listings and store pages. Next I have to tackle the dreaded preparation paperwork for taxes. With this being the first time it is going to take longer, much longer!

The exciting thing I'm looking forward to is the trip to CHA, Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show in February. It's been about 10 years since I've been and I know things have changed. I've signed up for a couple of classes so I can bring you some new tips on working with resin. I'll be searching for new products to enhance resin creations. I get excited just talking about it.

Got to go
Happy Casting
